Trickster’s own Loreta Sindi interviews adidas muses Liisa-Chrislin Saleh, Eri Rääsk, and Tristan Czar
adidas Tallinn recently held a community event that paid homage to Tallinn’s illustrious art scene and honored the culture upon which adidas was founded. Trickster celebrated the start of the school year in adidas’ style, hosting co-creation workshops! Bravah! Our guests got to personalize adidas staple pieces, e.g., caps, and joined a drawing session. The workshop hosts – stylist, jewelry artist Liisa-Chrislin Saleh, artist, interior designer, and entrepreneur Eri Rääsk, together with event’s host, producer, and film critic Tristan Czar, gave us tips on how to always stay true to yourself and live creatively. N’joy!
Liisa's answers:
1. Three tips for living a creative life?
❤ Visit Mother Nature, the most original creator, often. Observe and feel the patterns, colors, textures, and scents. Spending time in nature allows the body and mind to rest, and this state is the foundation for free creative thinking.
❤ Music, dance, club nights, concerts, and exhibitions fuel creativity. The more you expand your world, the more bridges you see between different mediums, and the more ideas you get on incorporating them into your creations.
❤ Collaboration – the best ideas come from the synergy of people on the same wavelength. Together, we can achieve more!
2. Describe your creative process.
My creative process is generally spontaneous and, to an outsider, chaotic. When creating looks, I’m guided more by my experiences — journeys, club culture, music, and the people involved —than by the fashion world and its trends.
Studying jewelry art and creating GOHARA has brought me closer to my roots and made me reflect more deeply on my creative work. I am asking myself what I want to leave behind in this world and how to give back something to my community.
3. What does originality mean to you, and how important is it?
Originality stems from self-awareness and self-love – with the power of these two, we can boldly tell our unique story. At the same time, we are all influenced by each other to some extent, especially in today's internet age, where there is so much visual information that we often don't even register where we first saw a particular idea. Therefore, I think it's okay to be inspired by someone, but it's also essential to give credit to those who have paved the way for us. Here, I'd like to give a shout-out to two Estonian jewelry artists who have been teachers and role models for me – Claudia Lepik and Erik Merisalu, and to the creative collective Sorcerer, whose various projects I look forward to with excitement and who have taken recycling to a new level in Estonia. Most of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe are made by them!
Tristan's answers:

Say “yes” to all opportunities. Consume and use different mediums. Communicate with all kinds of different people.
2. Describe your creative process briefly.
First, I brainstorm, then make a plan, and finally start working.
3. What does originality mean to you, and how important is it?
Honesty brings out people’s originality. I admire when people are honest in their creations, as I can’t always do that myself.
